Computer Sciences Corporation announced that it has signed a three-year, $38 million IT outsourcing contract with Allianz Australia, one of Australia’s leading insurers in both general insurance and workers’ compensation.
Under the contract, CSC will provide infrastructure support for Allianz Australia’s midrange systems, mainframes, local area networks and more than 3,000 desktops. CSC has worked with Allianz Australia since June 1999. Since then, their operations have doubled in size.
“Our experience enables us to deliver results during periods of high growth,” said Mike Shove, chief executive for CSC’s Australian operations. “We look forward to continuing this service with Allianz Australia.”
The contract was not all smooth sailing according to ZDNet Australia. Allianz CIO Steven Coles reported that he was not completely satisfied with the services nor the cost for those services. In regards to a previous contract with CSC, "We had some issues with cost...We just weren't comfortable with the cost of those services," Coles said, without going into detail.
Coles benchmarked CSC's services, and drafted a revised partner model between Allianz and CSC, allowing the two companies to continue to work together and improve service quality.
