To build on its momentum in the utility industry – where it continues to deliver superior outsourcing results for utility companies, including Bruce Power, Hydro One, Ontario Power Generation and TXU – Capgemini announced a series of executive appointments designed to further enhance its strength in the sector.

John Christens has joined Capgemini Americas Outsourcing Services (AOS) as CEO of Capgemini Energy, a Dallas-based joint venture that provides business process and information technology outsourcing solutions to utility companies. Christens succeeds Bob Pryor, who earlier this year was chosen to lead Capgemini’s AOS division. Christens’ appointment allows Pryor to focus on his new role of serving a broad range of industries, including the utility sector.

Amin Bishara has been named to Capgemini’s Outsourcing Global Utilities Sector and Perry Stoneman will step into Bishara’s former role of Business Development Leader for Capgemini’s Utilities Outsourcing Practice in North America.

“As utility companies’ business objectives continue to change and expand each year due to increasing worldwide demands for power, it is important that Capgemini continues to provide the international utility sector with experienced leadership,” said Paul Spence, leader, global outsourcing, Capgemini. "Amin Bishara, Bob Pryor and Perry Stoneman are a few examples of the many Capgemini executives who have proven their world-class ability to provide business services to the utilities industry. Adding John Christens to this team will expand our capability to continue our track record of success.”

“John Christens’ leadership of Capgemini Energy will be great for customers,” said C. John Wilder, chairman and CEO of TXU Corp. “I know John well. He’s top-notch. His passion and respect for customers and ability to inspire high performance from his team come at just the right time. When the electricity market opens to full competition in January, I expect John to get Capgemini Energy out of the gate first with a winning performance that will drive continued and measurable impact on delivering quality services and the innovation required to achieve market leadership.”

Pryor adds, “We are extremely pleased to announce the addition of John Christens to our leadership team. John adds to our depth and experience in the utilities industry and demonstrates our continuing commitment to enabling our clients to transform and perform through outsourcing. John will also ensure that our services continue to be flexible, efficient and innovative – effectively giving our clients freedom they need to achieve superior results in their core business.”
