BearingPoint, Inc., a management and technology consulting firm, announced it has been awarded a contract, valued at up to $13.7 million over four years, to provide program management services to the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) in the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The contract is valued at $3.4 million in its base year and includes three one-year options.
Under the new agreement, BearingPoint will work closely with the ONC to provide a wide range of services including:
- Program Management - including planning support, contract management support, and portfolio management to help keep projects on time and within budget.
- Communications Infrastructure - BearingPoint will help develop a communications portal and additional communications infrastructure activities to encourage knowledge sharing with industry and government.
- Health IT Subject Matter Expertise - BearingPoint will provide its expertise on an as-needed basis to support ONC.
- Large Scale Meeting Management - BearingPoint will provide services to support event planning and management for large scale meetings, such as the Nationwide Health Information Network Forum, so that key stakeholders and ONC contract recipients can share knowledge and build a interdependent community to foster interoperability
“By implementing this program management strategy at the ONC, BearingPoint will support the transformation of the current healthcare environment to a system that is more affordable for citizens, less costly for the federal government and safer for all Americans,” said Kelvin Womack, senior vice president of BearingPoint’s Public Health and Social Services Sector.
