IBM establishes second shared services center in Portugal

IBM has announced the establishment of a shared services center in Braga, Portugal, to provide finance and accounting services to its European clientele. The center is the second for the company in the country; the other center is located in Lisbon.
The company will use the new center to provide multilingual business and technology services. For example, the new center will work towards optimizing process performance and reducing costs for Unilever, as per an agreement between the two companies in 2005. The new center will work in association with the company’s centers in Krakow, Poland, and Bangalore, India. The Braga and Krakow centers will provide client and vendor relations services for Unilever, while the Bangalore-based center will provide transactional services.
