MeadWestvaco Corporation, a global packaging company, announced that Mark Gulling, the company's new president of Global Business Services, assumed his position on February 27, 2006. His responsibilities include leading the company's global internal services operations, including shared services for human resources, finance, logistics and information technology.
The implementation of the new business services model supports MeadWestvaco's recently announced new organizational structure aimed at capturing market growth opportunities, enhancing customer focus and increasing efficiency. In his new role, Mr. Gulling will further the company's objectives by driving strategies focused on generating enterprise-wide cost savings through streamlined shared services and elevating the effectiveness of the company's business services in order to improve customer and market responsiveness.
Mr. Gulling brings extensive expertise to the position, having recently served as director, Global Shared Services and vice president of Eastman Kodak Company (NYSE: EK), where he led the implementation of a global shared services model. Among his key responsibilities in this role, Mr. Gulling established standard business processes, reduced operational costs, implemented and oversaw international shared service centers, and reduced redundant administrative functions, resulting in significant cost savings. Prior to this position, he served as Eastman Kodak's chief information officer and vice president, and established a global information technology organization and managed the worldwide implementation of SAP.
