Agilent Technologies has revealed that it is the latest organization to join OB10, the global e-Invoicing network. Agilent Technologies Global Financial Services organization is recognized as “One of the 10 Most Admired Shared Service Organizations for the Second Year in a Row” by the Shared Services and Outsourcing Network. Agilent has achieved this through their ongoing commitment to implement best practice processes in their shared services centers in order to create service excellence for customers and suppliers alike. The use of OB10 is the latest initiative designed to achieve better supplier relationships and improved processes.
Agilent is expecting all suppliers to accept the invitation to participate in the e-Invoicing program before the end of the year. In doing so, suppliers will enjoy guaranteed delivery of invoices which in term will enable Agilent to pay on time. OB10 also provides Agilent with the ability to automate manual data entry tasks and create best practice processes – an initiative very much in line with their goal to create a virtual shared services operation.
OB10 will manage all the activities which are critical to supplier adoption, including supplier communication, integration, and technical support. So far, the response has been positive. Ellen Shampain, European Regional Manager, GFS Agilent Technologies comments “We identified OB10 as a best practice solution which would work well for both Agilent and our suppliers. To date, suppliers have responded well to the change having seen an improvement in the invoicing process as a result of eliminating paper. At Agilent, we have been able to streamline and reduce the costs associated with processing paper and significantly improve our purchasing practices so it has been a great move.”
As more suppliers join the network, OB10 will also add value by creating more transparency in the back office and eliminate the manual interface for data entry into Agilent’s accounting systems. Finally, eliminating paper from the process will have a positive impact on the environment.
Jamie Gunn, COO, OB10 says “As a service provider it is always a pleasure to work with a company who, like us, is striving for best practice. Agilent is now one of the many shared services organizations who use OB10 to receive and send electronic invoices. Given our experience in delivering ROI to this kind of organization, we are confident that the relationship will be a successful one.”
