Leading international energy delivery company National Grid Transco was created in 2002 through the merger of National Grid Group and Lattice Group. The company is one of the world’s largest utilities with core skills lying in the management of large and complex energy delivery networks. It owns, operates and develops the high-voltage electricity transmission network in England and Wales as well as Great Britain’s principal natural gas transportation system.
Prior to the formation of National Grid Transco, Pricewaterhouse-Coopers (PwC) Consulting began work with Lattice to develop a strategy for improving its procurement system. The need for the project became even more critical following the merger.
