Capgemini will receive EUR 873,800 in state subsidies for its BPO center to be launched in Krakow, the Polish cabinet decided last week.
“There were several criteria important for us in making the decision. The subsidy was just one of them. But it is a very positive signal from the government which may be an argument when further investment decisions are made”, Krystian Pracz, Capgemini Polska CEO said. The company will invest EUR 8 million in the center.
Estimates say that about 40 new jobs will be created around the project. The budget and local authorities’ budgets should have EUR 5 million of revenues because of the investment. “BPOs in Poland are long-term investments, similarly as in Ireland, where they function 15-20 years. It would change if another country could supply the same number of educated employers speaking foreign languages as Poland does, which is not easy”, Filip Topolewski from PAIIZ investment agency said.
