Indian software services and BPO companies are expected to increase their rate of hiring over the next nine months of the current fiscal year 2005-2006. The increase is largely due to the improved demand for offshore services.
TCS and Infosys will together hire around 33,000 employees in the remaining period of this fiscal. The mid-size companies are also on a hiring spree. The hiring rate of most medium-size vendors for the remaining period of the fiscal year is expected to be around 100 to 200 per quarter. However, companies like Cognizant are ramping up much quicker. In 2005, Cognizant will add 7,700 employees, taking its employee count to 23,000 by December 2005, from 15,300 in January 2005.
