Gecis to set up BPO centre in Romania

Gecis has announced it will locate its next business process outsourcing centre at Bucharest, in Romania as part of its global expansion strategy
This would be the company's second such centre in Europe after Hungary, a company release said here."The Romanian facility will handle a variety of complex finance and accounting, supply chain management, IT, engineering and customer services process for GE and other blue chip clients across Europe. Gecis will move into 4,000 sq.m of modern office space in north Bucharest's Iride business park in August, which has the expansion capacity of 8,000 sq.m for 1500 employees. Initial employment will be about 170," the statement added.
The centre will cater only to European customers.
Commenting on the development, Pramod Bhasin, President and CEO, Gecis Global, said: "Our expansion into Romania is key to value proposition for our European customers, and I believe that will provide intellectual talent we need to provide unparalleled process excellence to companies across Europe, making them more productive."
