Following its groundbreaking human resources outsourcing (HRO) transaction with Towers Perrin, EDS today announced several organizational changes aimed at accelerating the company's presence in the fast-growing business process outsourcing market.

Effective immediately, Joe Eazor, vice president of Corporate Strategy and Planning, becomes vice president and division manager, Business Process Outsourcing Services. Gil Marmol, who has led Business Process Outsourcing since 2003, moves to the role of division vice president, Planning and Operations Improvement for the corporation.

Eazor will lead BPO business development across the organization as the company pushes aggressively into robust new markets in enterprise shared services.

Marmol, having completed the planning and redesign of the BPO organization and the formation of an innovative new HR outsourcing company with Towers Perrin, will head EDS' efforts to create and implement consistent and uniform processes and market-based cost standards. Both are central planks in EDS' ongoing competitiveness initiative.

"These moves are a logical next step in our drive for market leadership in transformational BPO," said Mike Jordan, EDS chairman and CEO. "Gil has completed the work he set out to do in 2004. Today, we have fully competitive BPO offerings that build on our long history of leadership in that space.

"I'm confident Joe Eazor will build on this work and take the function to the next level, accelerating EDS' presence in human resources outsourcing, supply management, and finance and accounting services, while fortifying the company's already strong base in administrative and financial processing services and customer relationship management," Jordan said.

In the new organizational structure, Marmol will report to Mike Jordan. Eazor will report to Steve Schuckenbrock, executive vice president, Global Sales & Client Solutions. Eazor will be responsible for identifying industry BPO needs and integrating them into Charlie Feld's Portfolio Management organization.

In a complementary announcement, Fariba Rawhani moves from leading EDS' customer relationship management unit to become vice president of Agile BPO. She will direct BPO portfolio development efforts, reporting to Charlie Feld. In this role, Rawhani, who joined EDS earlier this year from Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, will be responsible for developing and packaging BPO portfolio offerings.

"We believe 2005 will be a pivotal year in business process outsourcing," said Jordan. "Our new organizational structure will enable us to put the right resources against this vital growth initiative as we move to capture market share."
