Candle, a leading enterprise infrastructure management provider, today announces that Candle’s PathWAIÔ Development Suite has been selected by leading insurance, pensions and investments provider, Eagle Star, to manage and enhance the performance and availability of its broker extranet, which supports IFAs and financial intermediaries across Ireland.

Candle's PathWAI Development Solutions support the web-based application architecture for Eagle Star Insurance and Eagle Star Life's broker extranet, which is based on an IBM WebSphere MQ Series Platform. Provided by Eagle Star's IT support services arm, Eagle Star Shared Services, the extranet plays a pivotal role supporting brokers and IFAs (independent financial advisors) who want real-time access to vital customer documentation, policy data and portfolio records.

Candle's PathWAI solutions were chosen by the financial services provider in order to monitor, track and resolve possible performance and infrastructure issues relating to the extranet before they impact on the end-user experience. With thousands of hits everyday, the extranet has transformed the relationship between Eagle Star and its brokers by accelerating customer transaction processes and providing brokers with real-time access to vital policy information.

Commenting Will Rothwell, Manager of the Shared Computer Centre, Eagle Star Shared Services states: "Utilising Candle's PathWAI Development Suite, we now have a hugely effective early warning and remote diagnostic tool for catching potential problems before they happen. Given the mission critical nature of the service, it is not acceptable for us to have brokers telling us about infrastructure failures or failed remote access issues. With PathWAI, we have taken what was a very capable e-business platform and provided a greater degree of assurance, for us, for our colleagues and for our broker community."

Designed for builders, tuners and testers of application infrastructure, PathWAI solutions empower application infrastructure development teams to rapidly identify and eliminate problems that cause operational performance issues throughout the application development life-cycle. Eliminating such problems dramatically reduces deployment delays and cost overruns.
