Top Services Vendors to Provide OuterBay Application Data Management as a Hosted or Managed Service to Improve ERP Application Performance and Lower TCO

OuterBay, the leading provider of application data management (ADM) solutions, today introduced its Outsourcing Partner Program to enable partners to provide its industry-leading software to customers as a hosted or managed service. Through the Outsourcing Partner Program, OuterBay offers greater customer choice in establishing an application data management best practice. Participating OuterBay partners include AdvizeX, Appshop, Data Intensity and NEC. OuterBay's Outsourcing Partners will offer the full OuterBay ADM Suite. Customers will benefit from expert management of their ADM solution at lower cost.

According to analyst firm IDC, organizations spend as much as ninety percent of their IT budget on system maintenance, which can be substantially reduced with application hosting (Source: IDC, Key Benefits of Applications Hosting and Management, October 2003). The OuterBay Outsourcing Partner Program allows enterprises to turn to experts to implement an application data management best practice without the need to increase IT resources.

OuterBay Outsourcing Partner Program Offers Customer Flexibility

OuterBay partners will offer two application data management outsourced service options:

- Hosted Solutions - Application data management experts host and manage the ADM solution and online archives on leading-edge infrastructure at partner datacenter.

- Managed Solutions - Application data management experts design, install, maintain and run the ADM solution at the customer site. Customers receive expert help and a solution customized for their enterprise.

All partners in the Outsourcing Partner Program are certified OuterBay Implementation Partners that have been trained and have expertise the ADM Suite and provide additional management services at a higher level of savings.

"We've had great success with OuterBay's ADM Suite implementations for customers who were looking for a solution to declining application performance and increasing server and storage costs," said Josh Marder, Practice Director -- Information Lifecycle Management, AdvizeX. "By offering the OuterBay ADM Suite to our ERP customers we can offer a holistic, comprehensive solution."

OuterBay's ADM Suite delivers application performance and storage cost containment for commercial applications such as Oracle EBS and PeopleSoft Enterprise Application suites. The OuterBay ADM Suite enables enterprises to monitor and forecast data growth, set and enforce data retention policies, and relocate or archive data to the most cost-effective storage class. Real-time user access to archived data allows users to set aggressive data retention policies, and keep months, not years of data in the production environment. OuterBay also helps reduce the cost of development and testing through database subsetting. The software supports custom applications and packaged application customizations, as well as comprehensive integration across modules and platforms.

"OuterBay strives to bring its customers the greatest possible flexibility in implementing an application data management best practice," said Michael Howard, CEO of OuterBay. "The companies in our outsourced services network are best-of-breed providers. With hosting and managed service options similar to those offered by major application vendors, this program allows more enterprises to experience the benefits of OuterBay software."

By implementing application data management best practices based on OuterBay, enterprises have benefited from ERP application performance improvements of over 70 percent, reductions in production database size of up to 60 percent, reductions in upgrade outage windows of 42 percent, and annual storage cost savings in the millions of dollars.
